All-Porcelain Crowns

All-porcelain crowns can be made of one of several new ceramics that have now had an extensive track record and research to support their use. The unique advantage of all porcelain crowns is that there will never be a dark metal line showing and it is less likely in (98% of the cases) that there will be a bright, opaque look to the final crown. This look comes from an opaque porcelain used to mask the dark metal substructure and in the all-porcelain system there is no metal. There is also an advantage in that the restoration can be bonded to the tooth adding strength to the restoration and overall tooth.
