Vanessa Sorrells

I was a Dental Assistant for 6 years before becoming a Dental Hygienist and had the opportunity to work with Dr. Stephenson in her beautiful San Francisco practice. I was excited to finally be working with someone who listened and cared for her patients. I observed how thorough and clear she was and in her communication and the care that she took to make sure patients were comfortable during treatment. Finally I was working with someone who shared the same values as my own and modeled that consistently.

After 4 additional years of working closely with Dr. Stephenson, I felt confident in moving forward with my long term goal of becoming a Dental Hygienist. It has been exciting moving into a role of a health educator and clinical health provider. The advanced education deepened my understanding of Dentistry and allowed me to provide the high level of service that was once modeled for me.

I am thrilled with the opportunity to now come back to work with Dr. Stephenson, Charles and Kathy as the Hygienist in the new Walnut Creek practice; it continues to be a great fit. I enjoy providing quality care for our patients with leading edge equipment in a safe work environment. I hope each patient leaves feeling cared for, with information that is beneficial for their home care routine. I enjoy great satisfaction when patients return feeling good about their health and enjoy their experience here.

When I am not practicing Dental Hygiene, I enjoy indulging in the local pleasures of the arts, wine tasting and dining out with friends. Most importantly, I love spending time with my son Anthony, an extremely talented high school theatre student, and running the lake with my adorable Labrador, Olive.
