Initial Visit

Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough exam and appropriate x-rays and an explanation of your diagnosis and treatment options.

A complex medical history or treatment plan may require additional records at a second appointment to provide you with the most comprehensive and effective plan.

The most appropriate type of cleaning will be determined at your initial visit and then can be scheduled for the following visit. Your future periodic exams will take place at the same visit as your cleanings. Typically your appointment will be one hour.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your initial exam:

  1. Your referral slip and any x-rays (if applicable). Your x-rays can be emailed from your prior dentist before your appointment or you can pick them up and bring the x-rays with you. Any additional films that are needed can be taken at this initial visit.
  2. A list of your current medications and any recommendations by physicians for pre-medication.
  3. Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy)
  4. If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary information so we might assist you.
  5. A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 at the consultation visit.
